NANKANA SAHIB: A tragic incident shook the suburban village of Walipur Bura when the roof of a dilapidated house collapsed, burying six members of a family under the debris. Two children lost their lives, while four others, including their parents, sustained serious injuries.
The incident occurred early in the morning at the home of labourer Muhammad Yasin. Rescue 1122 officials confirmed that 13-year-old Hadi and 10-year-old Hania died from suffocation. The injured include 50-year-old Muhammad Yasin, his 45-year-old wife Tasleem Bibi and their children, 19-year-old Zain and 17-year-old Mishal. Rescue teams provided first aid on-site before transferring the injured to the Tehsil Headquarters Hospital Shahkot for further treatment.
Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Tasleem Akhtar Rao visited the site to offer condolences and later met the injured at the THQ Hospital. Assistant Commissioner Shahkot Atiya Inayat and other officials were also present. The deputy commissioner directed the authorities to provide the best possible medical care and described the deaths of the children as a great tragedy.
