Robber killed by accomplice in Memon Goth

A suspected robber was killed allegedly by the firing of his own companion in the Memon Goth area on Wednesday. The firing incident occurred near the Chaukhandi Graveyard in Malir Memon Goth where one person was killed.

Police said the deceased man was identified as Umar, a suspected robber, who was shot dead by his own accomplice. According to police, four armed robbers entered a clinic to commit robbery. When a lady doctor resisted, the suspects opened fire; however, the bullet accidentally hit one of their own accomplice, killing him on the spot. The remaining suspects managed to flee. Police recovered weapons and ammunition from the scene. Further investigations are under way.

Suicide

A newly married man allegedly took his own life in Korangi Crossing on Wednesday. According to police, the 35-year-old man, identified as Nadeem, son of Miskeen, allegedly committed suicide by shooting himself inside a flat, within the limits of Zaman Town police station.

The police said Nadeem had been married for about one and a half months and was living in the flat with his wife, who had reportedly gone to her parents’ home following a dispute. He was employed at a power supply company and allegedly took the extreme step after an argument with his wife. The body was shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for medico-legal formalities. The police said further investigation into the incident was underway.
