The Board of Intermediate & Secondary Education (BISE) Larkano has constituted a fact-finding committee to investigate reported errors in the English-I (first year) question paper of the Higher Secondary School Annual Examinations 2026.

An official notification issued on April 25 states that the BISE chairman took notice of the concerns voiced by a senior professor through a video clip regarding alleged mistakes in the exam paper. Subsequently, a committee was formed to ascertain the veracity, nature and extent of the reported discrepancies.

The notification states that the Larkano region colleges director would serve as the committee convener, while Prof Zulfiqar Ali Tunio, associate professor (English) and principal of the Government Degree College Dokri, and Prof Umeed Ali Samtio, associate professor and head of the English department at the Government Girls Degree College Larkano, have been appointed as members.

The terms of reference assigned to the committee include examining the English-I paper, identifying any errors or ambiguities, determining their extent, and fixing responsibility in case of negligence or oversight. The committee has also been tasked with proposing remedial measures and recommendations.

The notification states that the committee is authorised to obtain the relevant records and seek explanations from the officials concerned, including paper setters and moderators.

The committee may also consult Prof Abdul Waheed Chandio, principal of the Government Degree College Larkano, for expert input. The committee has been directed to submit its detailed report within seven working days.
