LAHORE : The Outpatients Department (OPD) of Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital and Research Centre in Lahore has been officially renamed the Dr Faisal Masud Outpatients Department and a dedication plaque along with the new department name signages were unveiled.
This permanent naming honours the late Professor Dr Faisal Masud who was a renowned endocrinologist, distinguished academician, and recipient to the Tamgha-i-Imtiaz, following a landmark contribution by his family to the Shaukat Khanum Memorial Trust.
The extraordinary generous donation will fund renovation of the OPD, one of the hospital’s busiest areas, which sees more than 300,000 patient visits annually. It serves as the starting point of the cancer journey for countless individuals, from initial diagnosis and treatment planning to follow-up care, urgent assessments, therapy monitoring, celebrating clear scans, and sharing the joyful news of remission.

Dr Ahsan Malik, Director of Marketing, noted that this generous act will inspire many others who wish to create a lasting legacy in memory of their loved ones at Shaukat Khanum Hospital.
Through this Sadqa-e-Jariya, the name and legacy of Dr Faisal Masud will endure, bringing hope to hundreds of thousands of patients and their families for many years to come.
