Riverine areas of Rajanpur: Sindh Police drone attack destroys dacoits hideouts

LAHORE/GHOTKI/RAJANPUR: The Sindh Police conducted precision drone strikes on criminal hideouts in the riverine areas of Katcha Karachi, Rajanpur, destroying a major stronghold used by dacoits, officials confirmed.

According to Ghotki Police, Hamza Indhar described as a notorious dacoit sustained serious injuries, while Tanveer Indhar and Gul Hassan Lulai reportedly suffered minor injuries. The drone strike also resulted in injuries to a minor, while several women were injured. Sources told The News Tanvir Indhar is leading various gangs including Lulai gang, Sakhani gang, Bakhrani gang. These gangs are accused of kidnapping people from Rahim Yar Khan, Rajanpur, Sindh, as well as from some areas of KP and Balochistan. According to ‘unconfirmed’ reports, the police action led to killing of Lala Sakhani, brother of Qabil Sakhani. During the latest operation, some civilians, including family members of the dacoits are also suspected to have been killed. They included daughter of dacoit Qabool alias Qaboola, wife of dacoit Shera Korai; and a young son of Tanveer alias Dadoo Indhar. The injured, according to these reports, include Shera Korai and his brother, Ashiq Korai, Mohanra, Yousaf Bakhrani, Ghulam Rasool Mirani, Fareeda Mirani, Kala Saddam Mushar, Qabil, Matari and his wife, as well as Tariq Sakhani and two women from the Indhar and Lulai families. Further investigations are underway. Separately, DSP Ubaro said the operation in the border riverine area between Sindh and Punjab entered its third consecutive day. He said the police drones targeted and destroyed 12 hideouts of dacoits during which one dacoit was killed while several others were injured. According to police drone attack led to fire breaking out at the targeted hideouts. A dacoit bunker was also destroyed. The operation is being led jointly by DIG Sukkur and SSPs of Khairpur, Ghotki, and Shikarpur against criminal groups in the riverine areas is continuing.
