PESHAWAR: Experts at a daylong training workshop here on Tuesday presented practical demonstrations and guidelines on correct pruning of plants, branch trimming and modern agricultural techniques.
The workshop titled “Pruning and Trimming of Plants” was organized by the Department of Horticulture, Abdul Wali Khan University, Mardan. Speaking on the occasion, Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Jamil Ahmad, who inaugurated the workshop, said that promoting agricultural research and providing training were among the priorities of the university.
He noted that such programmes played an important role in enhancing the professional skills of the students as well as in the overall development of the institution. He said that students and employees of the university were being trained to enable them to help maintain orchards and trees. In the workshop, experts presented practical demonstrations on correct pruning of plants, branch trimming and modern agricultural techniques.
