Turkish delegation visits UoP for collaboration

PESHAWAR: A Turkish delegation has agreed to have collaboration with the University of Peshawar (UoP) in academic, research and innovation to benefit both the countries.

The delegation led by Dr MS Tuna, Country Head, TIKA, Ministry of Science and Technology, visited the UoP on Thursday to explore potential collaboration opportunities.The visit was aimed at strengthening ties between the University of Peshawar and Turkish institutions, and to identify areas for joint research and academic collaboration.

The delegation met Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Johar Ali and Pro Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Muhammad Naeem Qazi to discuss possible areas of cooperation.“We are impressed by the University of Peshawar’s academic excellence and research infrastructure. We believe that our collaboration can lead to groundbreaking research and innovation, benefiting both our countries,” said Dr MS Tuna.

Prof Dr Johar Ali welcomed the delegation. He said: “We are eager to collaborate with TIKA and Turkish institutions to enhance our research capabilities and provide our students with global exposure.”

The delegation visited the Department of Geography and Geomatics, where they were accompanied by Prof Dr Attaur Rahman.The purpose of the visit was to explore the feasibility of establishing an Advance Lab in the department.

“The Department of Geography and Geomatics has state-of-the-art facilities and a strong research focus, making it an ideal partner for our proposed collaboration,” said Dr Attaur Rahman.
