PESHAWAR: The Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC), Judge Wali Muhammad Khan, on Thursday issued arrest warrants for six officials of the Excise Department for failing to appear in a 54-kilogram narcotics case, and also ordered the attachment of the salary of the director general of department.

During the hearing of the case against accused Muhammad Shoaib for smuggling 54 kilograms of narcotics, the court was informed that Sub-Inspector Muhammad Tahir and a female constable along with four other officials, were nominated as prosecution witnesses.

The court had repeatedly issued notices to summon the officials but they failed to appear despite several calls. The court had also directed the Director General of Excise to ensure their presence during the hearing.
