KOHAT: At least four persons were killed and two others sustained injuries when armed men opened fire on their rivals in Lachi Bazaar here on Wednesday.
Police officials said that members of one group allegedly opened fire on their rivals in the busy Lachi Bazaar, killing four of them on the spot.The Rescue 1122 medical teams rushed to the scene and shifted the injured to KDA Hospital, Kohat, where their condition is reported to be critical.
The deceased and injured were identified as Hassan, Zahir Zaman, Ghafoor, and Mamoor.The officials said that an old rivalry had been ongoing for the past year between Badshah Khan and Manzoor Khan, residents of Lachi. Previously, two people had already lost their lives in the same feud. On Wednesday, they said, the opposing group attacked the shop where the rival party members were sitting, leading to the deadly firing.
Later, the funeral prayers of the deceased were offered at Lachi Eidgah, where a large number of local residents, political and social figures participated and expressed deep sorrow over the tragic incident. It was reported that all the deceased belonged to the same family.
