Hangu police conduct 180 search & strike operations in 3 months

HANGU: The Hangu police carried out major operations and targeted terrorists, criminals and drug traffickers besides seizing huge quantities of weapons, explosives and narcotics during the past three months’ drive in the district.

Talking to reporters, District Police Officer (DPO) Khan Zaib Mohmand said that the police had demonstrated excellent performance over the past three months, conducting 180 intelligence-based operations and killing 12 dreaded terrorists while large quantities of explosives, weapons and narcotics were also recovered.

He said that decisive action against terrorism, crime, and narcotics networks was underway, targeting terrorists, criminals and drug traffickers across the district.As a result, he said that the overall security situation in the district had improved while several networks involved in terrorism and narcotics had been dismantled.

The DPO said that police conducted 180 major search and strike operations across the district, resulting in the arrest of wanted criminals and disruption of criminal groups.During intelligence-based encounters, police killed 12 terrorists involved in target killings, sabotage, bombings and planning major terrorist attacks. According to him, these operations marked important progress in weakening long-standing militant networks in the district.

He said that during various operations, police seized a large cache of illegal weapons and narcotics, including 41 Kalashnikovs, 19 rifles, 40 shotguns, 3 Klakovs, 181 pistols, 24 hand-grenades, and 5,740 rounds of ammunition.
