Unsustainable economic practices are badly deteriorating the environment. For instance, during winter, burning agricultural waste in the upper part of the country increases particulate matter which poses serious risks to human health. Similarly, the untreated industrial water released into the sea is posing a threat to marine life. The state must take administrative measures to uphold a sustainable environment.
Corporations also ought to align their business practices with the ethical principles of environmental responsibility. Research has shown that such practices increase the productivity and profitability of companies in the long run.
