This week, charming model and actor, Hamza Gul shares his likes and dislikes with our readers…
Entertainment industry stories often begin with small steps that turn into steady progress over time. Hamza Gul is one of the young names working across modelling, commercials and acting, building experience across different formats. He studied Digital Media Marketing at Greenwich University and later trained in acting at NAPA. One of his early theatre projects, Kotawal, gave him practical stage experience and helped him understand performance work more closely. Since then, he has appeared in TV commercials, fashion shoots and runway shows. His work includes campaigns for brands like Spotify, Nestlé, Knorr and 7Up, along with frequent collaborations with designer Amir Adnan. He also walked the ramp for Parishae Adnan’s Darbar showcase. Recently, he has expanded into screen acting, including participation in an international reality project filmed in Turkey and signing his first TV serial. This marks his shift toward more mainstream acting work. This week he shares his likes and dislikes with our readers…
What first sparked your interest in acting?
Daily life often puts people into fixed roles. Acting felt different to me because it allows you to step outside that. You get to understand different characters and situations that are not part of your own life.
Who introduced you to the industry?
I did not wait for anyone to bring me in. I reached out to a talent management company myself. Things moved quickly after that and I started getting lead roles in TV commercials. Since then, I have kept working and improving.
Most memorable project so far?
The Knorr TVC I did with Ahsan Rahim. He is very clear in his direction. I learned a lot just by being on that set and observing how he works.
Experience working with Parishae Adnan on ‘Darbar’?
It was a smooth and positive experience. The working environment was good and made the process easier.
What stood out about her?
Her focus. She pays attention to small details and expects the same from others. That pushes everyone around her to do better work.
Outfits on the runway: style or comfort?
Both. The clothes looked strong visually but were also comfortable to wear. That balance is not very common in fashion work.
First runway experience: how was it?
I was nervous backstage. Once I stepped out, I focused on the walk. Afterward, I felt I could improve it even more.
Which is most challenging: TVCs, runway or reality work?
None of them feel difficult in a major way. The only tense moment is right before starting. Once I am in it, I feel normal.
Difference between working abroad and locally?
The main difference is discipline. International sets are more organised and punctual. That helps you focus only on performance.
Are you fully committed to acting now?
Yes. I am serious about it. I have not used contacts to get roles. I prefer being selected on merit. If I am not called for my work, I do not take the role.
Biggest strength in this industry?
Self-belief. If you do not trust your own ability, it becomes difficult to move forward here.
Current project you are excited about?
My first lead TV serial. It has a complex character with different layers. We are starting shooting soon and I am looking forward to it.
Most valued possession?
My gaming console. It helps me relax when I need a break.
What are you passionate about right now?
Acting. I want to improve with every project and do better in every role.
Least favorite environment?
Being in a room full of strangers with no real conversation or connection.
Favorite hangout spot?
Chai Master. Simple place, good tea and friends.
Health habit you follow?
Morning gym sessions. If I miss them, my whole day feels off.
Song that gets you moving?
EDM tracks, especially high-energy drops like Hardwell’s ‘Nothing Can Hold Us Down’.
Teenage crush?
Alexandra Daddario.
What makes you uncomfortable?
People who do not respect boundaries or ask very personal questions.
Biggest red flag in people?
Dishonesty. I do not connect well with people who are not straightforward.
Relationship lesson you value most?
Effort has to go both ways. If it is one-sided, it is better to step back.
If not acting, you would be?
I would be in business. That has always interested me too.
Best trait about yourself?
Once I decide on something, I stay committed to it.
Currently watching?
‘The Boys’.
How do you unwind?
Late-night swimming and music. It helps me reset.
Where do you see yourself in five years?
To be in strong roles, working with good directors and known for consistent work rather than just visibility.
