MANSEHRA: The tehsil administration Baffa-Pakhal on Tuesday took notice of the illegal collection of entry and parking fees at tourist resorts at various points in Siran Valley and warned of strict legal action if such practices continued.
“Our teams visited picnic spots and parking areas at various locations in Siran Valley and found groups of people illegally collecting entry and parking fees from tourists,” Tehsil Municipal Officer Mazhar Muzzaffar Awan told reporters.
He said that Deputy Commissioner Mian Behzad Adil had received complaints that certain groups were collecting entry and parking fees without the approval of the competent authority and in violation of the law.
“Our teams, led by Tehsil Officer (Revenue) Azaz Saleem and Enforcement Officer Waseem Khan, conducted inspections and found that tourists were being fleeced. All such collection points have been closed, and those involved in these unlawful practices have been summoned to the TMA office for further legal action,” Awan said.
He said that illegal entry and parking fees were being collected at Shahzeb Lake Koligah, Bagga Bala Dam Point, Siran View Park, Domail Schain Point, Munda Chucha Parking Point, Siran Village Hut Sum, and Schain Main Road.
Meanwhile, Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Sardar Mohammad Yusuf on Tuesday said that Islam taught its followers to establish peace and harmony and shun violence. “If we want to live in peace and harmony, we should respect the teachings of Islam and follow its injunctions to foster brotherhood and mutual respect,” he was addressing a grand jirga held here.
