As a country with a large young population, Pakistan possesses tremendous potential for growth and development. However, many talented young people face challenges such as limited educational opportunities, unemployment and a lack of practical training. The recently announced budget 2026–27 reflects the government’s efforts to address economic challenges. However, greater emphasis on youth development can produce long-term benefits for the country. Investment in quality education, technical training, digital skills, internships and entrepreneurship programmes can help young people become productive members of society and contribute to national progress.
Young people are not only the future of Pakistan but also an important part of its present. Providing them with the right opportunities will encourage innovation, reduce unemployment and strengthen the economy. A nation that invests in its youth invests in its own success. I urge policymakers to continue prioritising youth-focused initiatives in future policies and development plans.
