Islamabad: Despite strong cooperation between Pakistan and China across multiple sectors, significant opportunities remain to expand collaboration in the publishing industry, according to a senior Pakistani publisher attending the 32nd Beijing International Book Fair (BIBF).
Speaking on the sidelines of the event, Director of Head Office, Sales, Marketing and Editorial at one of Pakistan’s oldest publishing houses, said that although the two countries enjoy close bilateral ties, joint initiatives in publishing have yet to reach their full potential.
The 32nd edition of BIBF has brought together more than 1,700 exhibitors from 82 countries and regions, including over 1,100 international participants. The fair serves as a major global platform for copyright negotiations, publishing partnerships and cultural exchange.
Although this is the publishing house’s first participation in BIBF, it has already collaborated with Chinese publishers, including CITIC Press Group, to translate around 45 Chinese illustrated children’s books into Urdu.
