IGP reviews security measures at procession route

Islamabad: Over 15,000 personnel have been deployed for Muharram-ul-Haram security in Islamabad, said Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi.

He also visited Imambargah Asna Ashri. Senior officers of Islamabad Police were also present on the occasion. During the visit, the IGP Islamabad reviewed the security arrangements and inspected the route of the main procession. He also met with the administration of the Imambargah.

Meanwhile, DIG Islamabad Muhammad Jawad Tariq and SSP Operations Qazi Ali Raza visited various Imambargahs in the federal capital in connection with the security arrangements for Muharram-ul-Haram. During the visit, they conducted a detailed review of the security measures in place and met with the administrators of the Imambargahs.

Discussions were held regarding the maintenance of law and order during Muharram-ul-Haram, ensuring foolproof security arrangements, the peaceful conduct of processions and religious gatherings, and the promotion of mutual cooperation.
