LAHORE : The All Pakistan Federation of Trade Unions organised a meeting in connection with the commemoration of the sacrifice of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA).

Addressing the gathering, veteran trade union leader Khurshid Ahmed said that the stand of Imam Hussain (RA) against oppression remains a lasting example of standing for truth and justice.

He said that economic injustice, exploitation, poverty, unemployment and inflation continued to affect workers, while capitalist and feudal systems are weakening social justice.

He urged workers to unite and intensify their struggle for legitimate rights and to raise their voice against inflation, unemployment, lawlessness, terrorism and hoarding.

Representatives of various labour organisations and trade unions also paid tribute to the sacrifices and high moral position of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) in the meeting.
