LAHORE : A ceremony was held in honour of Pakistan’s national padel team on Saturday ahead of its participation in the Asia Pacific Padel Cup to be held in Manila, Philippines. Provincial Minister for Sports Malik Faisal Ayub Khokhar and Adviser to the CM Punjab Ali Dar attended the event as special guests and extended their best wishes to the players.

Speaking on the occasion, Malik Faisal Ayub Khokhar said that national athletes are ambassadors of Pakistan and carry the hopes and prayers of the entire nation. He expressed confidence that the team would deliver an outstanding performance and bring pride to the country on the international stage.

The sports minister announced that, after Muharram-ul-Haram, Sports Punjab, in collaboration with AI, would organise a major padel tournament to further promote the sport in the province. He also revealed that a new padel court would soon be inaugurated in Sialkot.

Highlighting the government’s commitment to sports development, Khokhar said that 14 additional state-of-the-art padel courts were currently under construction in various cities across Punjab, providing modern facilities for athletes and encouraging greater participation in the sport.

Adviser to the CM Punjab Ali Dar said that the Punjab government was actively promoting modern technology under its AI Vision 2029 initiative. He emphasised that integrating technology with sports and youth development would create new opportunities for talent and innovation across the province.
