The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Anti-Human Trafficking Circle (AHTC) Karachi has arrested a highly wanted fugitive listed in the agency’s Red Book.

The suspect, identified as Sheikh Abdullah, son of Sheikh Nadeem Hussain, had been evading law enforcement for the past 15 years, said an FIA spokesperson. The arrested man was wanted by the FIA since 2011 and had remained absconding despite multiple efforts to trace him.

According to the FIA, the suspect was wanted in several cases involving human smuggling, fraud and financial crimes. Investigators alleged that Abdullah operated an organised criminal network along with members of his family and associates.

During the investigation, the FIA found that the suspect and his accomplices allegedly defrauded citizens of millions of rupees through fake Hajj and Umrah packages. Victims were reportedly lured with false promises and fraudulent travel arrangements before being deprived of substantial sums of money.

The FIA further claimed to have uncovered evidence of the exploitation of women and the unlawful use of their personal documents. According to investigators, the suspect allegedly used documents and personal information obtained from women to establish companies and business entities.

Preliminary findings suggest that these entities were later used to facilitate financial crimes, including the transfer, concealment and movement of funds allegedly generated through criminal activities. The FIA described the arrest as a significant breakthrough in its efforts against human smuggling, fraud and organised financial crime.
