In Pakistan, people are living through climate change every day. Heat is harsher, rains are unpredictable and water is becoming scarce. Still, a large number of people do not fully understand what is happening or how their own actions connect with it. This gap in understanding is what climate literacy is about. In simple words, climate literacy means knowing how the weather is changing, why it is changing and what everyday actions can make things better or worse. Right now, this understanding is weak. A person may talk about climate change, though still waste water at home or burn waste outside.
Climate literacy can change this. A student who understands water scarcity will think before wasting it. A family that understands heat risks will adjust daily routines. A community that understands flooding will push for better drainage and planning. Pakistan is already facing the impact. Understanding it clearly is a basic need for survival.
