LAHORE:A man died and another sustained critical injuries when an LWMC vehicle hit a motorcycle on Ferozepur Road on Wednesday.According to Rescue 1122, Arif Ali of Rehmat Park died on the spot, while the injured motorcyclist was shifted to hospital in a critical condition.
A traffic police spokesperson said eyewitnesses alleged that the accident occurred due to the over-speeding and negligence of the LWMC vehicle driver, who fled the scene after the accident. Police later impounded the vehicle.
CTO Abdul Rahim Shirazi took notice of the incident and sought a detailed report from the SP City Division.Meanwhile, Rescue 1122 reported that 231 accidents were recorded across Lahore during the last 24 hours, leaving two people dead and 279 injured. Of the injured, 110 were shifted to hospitals in a serious condition, while 169 were provided first aid at the scene.
