LAHORE:Police have arrested a woman accused of setting three people on fire in a shocking incident near the Sabzazar Orange Line Train Station.
The incident occurred when the suspect allegedly attacked three individuals — a woman identified as Sana, a man named Ilyas, and a child Abdullah — by pouring petrol on them and setting them ablaze. The victims sustained burn injuries and were shifted for medical treatment.
Police said the suspect fled the scene after the attack but was later identified and arrested. She was identified as Sheela alias ‘Sherni’.Officials added that preliminary information suggests the accused is also a drug addict.A case was registered against the suspect. A spokesperson for the DIG Operations said all three victims are in stable condition.
Suspect posing as CCD officer arrested
Ring Road Police have arrested a man accused of impersonating a senior government official and attempting to deceive members of the public.
The suspect was posing as a deputy director of the Crime Control Department (CCD) and presenting himself as a government officer.During the operation, police recovered several allegedly fake identification cards bearing the names of different government departments, official-style vehicle number plates and an electric shock device from the suspect's possession.
Investigators said the accused had equipped his vehicle with an illegal police flasher light and black-tinted paper in an apparent attempt to create the impression that he was a serving government official.
Meanwhile, police also arrested a man for allegedly impersonating a police officer during checking near Bhatta Chowk.The suspect, identified as Faisal Pervez alias "Hanan Champion", was found wearing a police uniform. Police said he had previously been dismissed and continued to portray himself as a police officer on social media.Several videos showing him in police uniform were recovered from his TikTok account. A case was registered.
