LAHORE: Shahdara Town police have arrested four members of an alleged forgery network and dismantled a factory-like operation involved in producing counterfeit currency and fake official documents.

The suspects, identified as Riaz, Sajan, Imran and Asif, including a father-son duo, were taken into custody and a case was registered against them. Police said the accused were allegedly running an organised network involved in the production of counterfeit Pakistani and foreign currency, fake national identity cards, educational degrees and forged government documents. During the raid, officers recovered a large quantity of counterfeit local and foreign currency, printing machinery, computers, chemicals and other equipment allegedly used in the forgery operation.
