Dragon Boat Festival arranged at Sardaryab

CHARSADDA: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police team and the Charsadda team emerged victorious in the Dragon Boat Festival organized by the China Cultural Centre at Sardaryab.

The Sports Writers Association team secured second position, while the Peshawar High Court team finished third.Special Assistant to the Chief Minister for Culture and Tourism, Malik Adil Iqbal, was the chief guest on the occasion.

Provincial ministers Fazal Shakoor and Akhtarullah Jan, Members of the Provincial Assembly, Deputy Commissioner Charsadda Azmatullah Wazir, Additional Deputy Commissioner Charsadda Rina Abbasi, officials of Rescue 1122, Director Culture and Tourism Halima Iqbal, and a large number of spectators witnessed the event.

As many as 100 boat racers participated in the competitions and were divided into different teams. Chinese guests also attended and enjoyed the Dragon Boat Festival.Special Assistant to the Chief Minister for Culture and Tourism Malik Adil Iqbal presented awards to the winning teams.

Malik Adil Iqbal congratulated the organizers of the festival, which was held as part of the celebrations marking the 75th anniversary of Pakistan-China friendship.China Cultural Centre Administrator Amjad Aziz Malik said that the festival had introduced an ancient Chinese cultural tradition to Pakistan.
