As AI continues to advance, it presents both opportunities and challenges that society must address thoughtfully. In education, AI-powered tools can make learning more accessible and efficient. However, excessive dependence on such tools may reduce students’ ability to think independently and solve problems creatively. Similarly, in the job market, automation may replace some routine tasks while creating demand for new skills and professions. To benefit from these changes, Pakistan must modernise its educational system and promote digital literacy.
Students should be taught how to use AI responsibly while continuing to develop critical thinking, communication and analytical skills. Employers and training institutions must also support continuous learning so that workers can adapt to changing workplace requirements. AI should not be viewed solely as a threat or a miracle solution. Its ultimate impact will depend on how effectively we prepare our students and workforce for a rapidly changing future. With the right policies and investments, AI can become a powerful tool for national progress.
