LAHORE:Police have arrested 16,300 proclaimed offenders (POs) of Categories A and B during the ongoing year. According to a spokesperson for Lahore Police, the arrests were made through effective policing strategies and intelligence-based operations conducted across the city.
During the campaign, police apprehended 3,192 Category-A proclaimed offenders and 13,204 Category-B offenders. CCPO Bilal Siddique Kamyana said that indiscriminate action was being taken against criminal elements to make the city safer for its residents.
The CCPO said Lahore Police were using both human intelligence and modern digital technologies to dismantle networks of proclaimed offenders and bring them to justice. Bilal Kamyana directed field officers to intensify efforts against Category-B offenders and ensure effective follow-up of wanted suspects. He instructed police teams to conduct intelligence-based operations to arrest proclaimed offenders and present them before the courts.
