ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s textile exports have continued their upward trajectory despite ongoing regional uncertainty, registering steady growth in both monthly and cumulative terms, according to official and industry data.
In May 2026, textile exports increased by 10.61pc on a month-on-month (MoM) basis, and 8.23pc year-on-year (YoY) basis, reaching $1.657 billion, compared to $1.53 billion in May 2025 and $1.498 billion in April 2026. For the first 11 months of the current fiscal year (July 2025 to May 2026), Pakistan’s textile exports stood at $16.68 billion, reflecting an increase of around 2pc compared to $16.36 billion in the corresponding period last year.
The consistent growth highlights resilience in the country’s key export sector, even as broader trade conditions remain mixed.
According to Federal Bureau of Statistics trade data, Pakistan’s overall exports in May 2026 rose 9.59pc month-on-month and 1.26pc year-on-year to $2.705 billion. However, cumulative exports for the first 11 months of FY2025-26 declined by 5.61pc, falling to $27.9 billion.
Despite this overall contraction in total exports, the textile sector — Pakistan’s largest export industry — has remained a stabilising force, continuing to show positive momentum in external trade performance.
