LAHORE:Chinese Consul General Sun Yan has emphasised China’s stance to establish a ‘China-Pakistan Security Partnership’ under the vision of military to military, collaboration, counter-terrorism cooperation and strengthen security measures in accordance with shared agreement between Pakistan and China.
He expressed these views during a function of celebrations of 75th anniversary of Pak-China diplomatic relations organised by columnist expert Muhamad Mehdi at his residence.In his speech, the Chinese Lahore Consul General said that both countries have agreed to expedite cooperation on infrastructure development, industrial growth, and connectivity initiatives under the second phase of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), while also enhancing collaboration on regional and global affairs.
He reaffirmed China’s commitment to supporting Pakistan’s agricultural modernisation by promoting advanced farming technologies and facilitating greater access for high-quality Pakistani agricultural products to the Chinese market.
‘China also welcomed two Pakistani astronauts for specialised training and expressed its anticipation of seeing a Pakistani astronaut become the first foreign national to participate in an early mission aboard the China Space Station,’ he added.
‘China reiterated its unwavering support for Pakistan’s sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity. It also reaffirmed its commitment to working closely with Pakistan to combat terrorism in all its forms, support Pakistan’s growing role in regional and international affairs, pursue shared development objectives, and uphold international law and multilateral principles,’ he explained.
Addressing the gathering, Senator Pervaiz Rasheed welcomed Chinese Consul General in Lahore, Sun Yan, and emphasised that Pakistan-China friendship has remained steadfast and resilient regardless of changing regional or international circumstances.
Senior journalists Mujeeb-ur-Rehman Shami, Sohail Warriach, Salim Bukhari and Hafeezullah Niazi, MPAs Imran Javed, Rana Rashid Minhas, Supreme Court Bar Executive Committee member Amjad Shirazi were among those who attended the event.
