LAHORE:Lahore Police was fully alert to maintain peace and security during Muharram-ul-Haram, CCPO Lahore Bilal Siddique Kamyana said while chairing a meeting on Muharram security arrangements at the Capital City Police Headquarters.
The CCPO directed to ensure strict surveillance of sensitive locations and identified hotspots across the city. He ordered indiscriminate action against any violations of government-issued SOPs. Kamyana directed to deploy rooftop security personnel on high-rise buildings situated along mourning procession routes. He asked the officers concerned to obtain clearance certificates from owners and residents of buildings located on these routes to ensure public safety.
The CCPO instructed the Chief Traffic Officer to formulate a comprehensive traffic management and parking plan to facilitate mourners and the general public during Muharram. He stressed the importance of close coordination with the district administration, peace committee members, procession organisers, caretakers of religious institutions, license holders and other stakeholders to help maintain a peaceful and harmonious environment throughout Muharram.
