LAHORE : Commissioner Lahore Division Marryam Khan issued instructions to all relevant departments to remain on high alert in view of the rains and ensure effective drainage arrangements.
According to the Commissioner Lahore, the rainfall situation is being continuously monitored from 16 different places in the city, while all the pumping points and camps established at sensitive locations have been ordered to be She directed the Wasa administration to keep all the machinery for drainage fully functional and the backup system at the disposal stations ready at all times.
Commissioner Lahore said that emergency teams should ensure immediate drainage in low-lying areas, main highways and places affected by rain so that citizens do not face any difficulties.
She further directed that the teams of Wasa, Lahore Development Authority, Metropolitan Corporation Lahore and Central Business District should be fully active in their respective areas.
Commissioner Lahore also directed to keep the machinery active to prevent water accumulation in underpasses and to operate all disposal stations at full capacity.
