LAHORE: Deputy Commissioner M Ali Ijaz on Saturday visited various parts of the city to monitor post-rain drainage operations and reviewed the performance of the Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) teams engaged in clearing rainwater from low-lying areas.
During the visit, the deputy commissioner inspected Mozang and Lakshmi Chowk, where he was briefed by Wasa Deputy Managing Director on the ongoing drainage efforts.
Officials informed him that water had been cleared from all major locations across the city, while Wasa teams continued working in remaining areas to complete the operation.
The DC directed Wasa officials to keep their staff on high alert in all low-lying localities and ensure the immediate disposal of accumulated rainwater.
He stressed that citizens should face minimum inconvenience during and after rainfall and ordered the uninterrupted operation of all disposal stations.
DC Lahore also instructed officials to continue cleaning sewerage lines and address public complaints on a priority basis. He emphasized the need to promptly clear roads to maintain smooth traffic flow across the city.
He said Wasa and district administration teams were fully active in the field and monitoring vulnerable areas round-the- clock.
He added that teams would remain on the ground until the drainage operation was completed and all available administrative resources would be utilized to facilitate citizens.
