LAHORE : Punjab Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs Malik Faisal Ayub Khokhar has presided over an important meeting at the National Hockey Stadium in which various important decisions were taken about Sports City, CM Punjab Youth Games and 18 Sports Academies.
Vice Chairman Sports Board Punjab Salman Malik, Secretary Sports Punjab Fazlur Rehman, DG Sports Punjab Tariq Qureshi, Director Sports Chand Perveen, Director Admin Abid Shaukat, Director Youth Affairs M Fahad and other officials participated in the meeting.
Addressing the meeting, Punjab Minister for Sports Malik Faisal Ayub Khokhar said that Pakistan’s first Sports City will be completed in a period of two years. “The most modern Sports City of the country will be constructed on 477 kanals. Chief Minister Punjab has directed to complete the Sports City within the given time frame”.
He said that CM Punjab Youth Games will be held this year in which more than 5 million girls and boys players will participate. “CM Punjab Youth Games will have competitions from Union Council to Division level. Besides this, a large number of Madrassa children will also participate in CM Punjab Youth Games”.
Faisal Khokhar further said that Punjab Sports Department is going to establish 18 free sports academies where more than 2,000 girls and boys will be taught free sports and given free kits.
He said that Punjab Sports Department is striving hard to prepare maximum number of athletes for Olympic Games. “Scholarships will also be given to top performing players”.
