LAHORE : Inspector General of Punjab Police Abdul Kareem directed continued strict action against lawbreakers and anti-state elements.
He commended officers and personnel for maintaining effective security arrangements across the province during Eid-ul-Azha.
According to the Punjab Police, the holidays remained peaceful due to coordinated strategies, continuous monitoring, and patrolling. Senior officers, including CCPO Lahore, RPOs, and DPOs, stayed in the field to ensure the safety of citizens and their property.
The spokesperson said operations against lawbreakers continued during Eid. Arrests were made for illegal collection of sacrificial hides, one-wheeling, aerial firing, displaying weapons, and violations of the Loudspeaker Act, with multiple cases registered.
Meanwhile, in Murree, District Police Officer Dr M Raza Tanveer said that police ensured effective security and traffic management during Eid. No untoward incident was reported in the first three days, during which over 70,000 vehicles entered the city.
He added that traffic flow remained smooth due to controlled entry systems, monitoring at key routes, and coordination with other departments, providing a safe environment for tourists.
