LAHORE : A 40-year-old patient, Shameem Rahmat, from Peshawar, has been successfully treated and discharged from Lahore General Hospital (LGH) after undergoing free, high-quality medical care under the health vision of CM Maryam Nawaz.
Shameem Rahmat, who was suffering from a serious gynaecological condition, had previously received unsuccessful treatment at various hospitals in KPK. Her family, left with no other options, brought her to Lahore where she was admitted to LGH. Under the provincial government’s policy of providing equal and quality healthcare to patients from all provinces without discrimination, she underwent successful uterus surgery.
Prof Dr Nudrat Sohail, Head of Gynaecology Unit-I, along with her team, conducted a detailed examination, necessary diagnostic tests, and performed the surgery, leading to the patient’s recovery. Principal AMC, Prof Dr Farooq Afzal, praised the efforts of Dr Sanam Allahyar and Dr Sundas Tahir for their professional excellence, dedication and continuous care of patients from other provinces.
He announced special certificates of appreciation for both doctors. Shameem Rahmat’s father, Shafi-ur-Rehman, expressed deep gratitude and lauded the revolutionary steps taken in the health sector under CM Maryam Nawaz, stating that the entire nation is praying for her. Her husband, Rahmat Ullah, also appreciated the compassionate and professional behaviour of the hospital staff, particularly MS LGH Prof Dr Faryad Hussain and Prof Dr Nudrat Sohail.
LGH MS Prof Dr Faryad Hussain stated, ‘every patient who comes to Lahore General Hospital is a VIP for us. Our doctors have not only provided excellent treatment to Shameem Rahmat but have also enhanced the hospital’s reputation through their hard work, professional competence and empathetic attitude.
‘We are proud of our healthcare professionals who are fully committed to the Punjab government’s policy of providing the best possible treatment to patients from all provinces without any discrimination.
This successful case highlights the inclusive and patient-centric healthcare reforms initiated under the leadership of the CM’.
