Pakistan’s farmland is dying. Slowly and quietly, land that once fed millions is turning barren. According to the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), more than 38 million people in Pakistan were already affected by land degradation in 2025.
Declining soil quality, water scarcity, deforestation and overgrazing are destroying fertile land across the country. Pakistan must act now. The country needs enforced anti-deforestation laws, sustainable land management practices and a fair commission to resolve water disputes.
