KOHAT: Two security personnel were martyred and five militants killed during a clash between security forces and militants in the mountainous Tor Chappar area of Darra Adamkhel, security sources said on Friday.
The sources said security forces launched a search operation in the area after receiving intelligence reports about the presence of militants.
During the operation, they said, the militants opened fire on the troops, resulting in the martyrdom of two security personnel and injuries to five others.
The forces, the sources said, responded effectively and killed at least five militants, while several others were injured in the exchange of fire.
The bodies of the martyred soldiers and the injured personnel were shifted to the Combined Military Hospital (CMH).
The martyred personnel were identified as Havaldar Ahmad Nawaz and Sepoy Bilal Bashir.
According to the sources, the operation in the area continued until late Friday.
