Rawalpindi:The Suthra Punjab Agency (SPA) Rawalpindi has disposed of more than 12,000 tons of garbage in Rawalpindi district in the three days of Eid-ul-Azha.

All 1,500 complaints received during the Eid days were immediately redressed. The cleanliness operation, which started a night before Eid, was successfully completed after four consecutive days.

After removing the garbage, all the temporary transfer stations were dismantled and washed with rose water and then a large amount of lime was sprinkled to eliminate germs and odors. Similarly, the pits dug at the dump station were filled with soil and then a large amount of lime was sprinkled.

On the third day of Eid, MD SPA Rawalpindi Rana Sajid Safdar visited different places in the city and met the workers and also presented them with sweets. Talking to the media, Tahira Aurangzeb called the Eid cleanliness operation a practical example of the Clean Punjab vision of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif.

He said that the entire team deserves congratulations for the exemplary cleanliness arrangements in Rawalpindi. Commissioner Rawalpindi Division Engineer Amir Khattak said that during Eid-ul-Azha, a clean environment was provided to the citizens through effective monitoring, prompt response and modern waste management strategies.

DC Rawalpindi and Chairman Shuthra Punjab Agency Dr. Hassan Waqar Cheema said that timely redressal of all complaints received from the citizens was ensured and no pollution was allowed to remain in any area.

MD Shuthra Punjab Agency Rana Sajid Safdar said that the workers, officers and field teams of the organization worked continuously day and night and successfully completed this most difficult cleanliness target. Member National Assembly Tahira Aurangzeb, Commissioner and DC Rawalpindi and Chairman Shuthra Punjab Agency Rawalpindi Dr. Hassan Waqar Cheema supervised this grand cleaning operation and ensured effective monitoring by making several visits to different places of the city, transfer stations and the central control room on the three days of Eid.

ADC Headquarters Abdul Rehman Khan, ADCG Maleeha Sahar, AC City Iman Zafar, AC President Malik Hakim Khan and AC Cantt Saadur Rehman were also busy cleaning their respective areas from pollution.
