LAHORE : A special cleanliness operation launched under Suthra Punjab initiative is under way in the city.
According to Suthra Punjab Authority DG Babar Sahib Din, holidays of the sanitation staff of SPAL have been cancelled to ensure uninterrupted cleanliness arrangements across the provincial capital.
Sanitation workers remained active in the field on Sunday as well. Additional staff has been deployed at the city’s entry and exit points, bus terminals, wagon stands, markets and other public places witnessing heavy crowds during Eid days.
The agency has also ensured clearance of more than 7,000 waste containers installed across the city. Loader rickshaws have been deployed in all union councils of Lahore to ensure door-to-door waste collection.
