Out of nowhere, fuel costs have shot up thanks to steep taxes and now workers across Pakistan are reeling. With every bus ride and loaf of bread getting pricier, those in power seem farther away than ever.
Instead of taxing necessities, leaders ought to rethink fairness in terms of how money moves through society. Public systems exist to support lives, after all, not pile on pressure.
