RAWALPINDI: An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) on Thursday ordered the seizure of surety bonds and bail bonds of 12 convicted absconders, Omar Ayub and Zartaj Gul, convicted in the GHQ attack case.

According to the court order, the responses submitted by the sureties to show-cause notices were found dissatisfactory.

The court imposed a fine of Rs100,000 each on the guarantors and ordered the seizure of their bail bonds. It further ruled that failure to pay the fine would result in six-month imprisonment to each guarantor.

The court had earlier sentenced 47 absconding accused to 10 years in prison in the same case.

The court also directed action against other absconders in related May 9 cases.
