The Napa Repertory Festival showcased a Babar Jamal adaptation of British playwright Derek Benfield’s play, Hide and Seek on Wednesday at Zia Mohyeddin Theatre of the National Academy of Performing Arts (Napa) to a packed-to-capacity audience.
The play revolves around a bungled plot to recover stolen money at a quiet country hotel. Gangsters kidnap a man to find hidden loot, but accidentally take the wrong namesake: a harmless twit who has no idea where the money is. Chaos ensues with romantic mishaps and mistakes.
The play is directed by Zarqa Naz, a Napa alumnus and faculty member. It features Hammad Khan, Usama Khan, Moazzam Khan, Fahad Sheikh, Manal Siddiqui, Kainat Muhammad, Bazelah Mustafa, and Zarqa Naz. The play will continue on Thursday as well.
