Islamabad: The government has decided to reviews and enhance security infrastructure established for Chinese nationals and China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) projects in Federal Capital, a spokesman of the Federal Capital Police said, Tuesday.
The Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Security for Islamabad, Rana Umar Farooq, convened a high-level meeting with the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) for the Special Protection Unit (SPU), Arsalan Shahzaib, to comprehensively review the security infrastructure established for Chinese nationals and China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) projects in Islamabad.
During the session, SSP Shahzaib delivered a detailed briefing encompassing the overarching security landscape surrounding Chinese residents, development projects, and CPEC-related initiatives. The briefing outlined the specialized protective measures currently in place, which include strategic personnel deployment plans, route security protocols, the monitoring of key installations, and the refinement of emergency response mechanisms at sensitive locations. Furthermore, the discussions focused heavily on the integration of modern surveillance technology and the enhancement of coordination and liaison channels among relevant departments.
Concluding the meeting, the DIG directed officials to enhance the professional capacity of the personnel deployed on security duties. He also mandated more rigorous monitoring of sensitive locations and ordered the strict, uncompromising implementation of all established security protocols.
