LAHORE: The Ombudsman Punjab has ensured the recovery of stolen property and financial compensation for several complainants after taking prompt notice of grievances regarding delayed police action in different districts of the province.
According to the spokesman, a number of citizens approached the Ombudsman Punjab with complaints concerning the non-recovery of their stolen motorcycles, mobile phones, vehicles and livestock, expressing dissatisfaction over the response of the concerned police authorities.
Acting swiftly on the complaints, the Ombudsman Punjab directed the relevant authorities to take immediate and effective measures for redressal of the grievances and provision of relief to the affected citizens.
Following the intervention, the concerned police authorities accelerated their efforts, resulting in the recovery and return of eight stolen motorcycles, two mobile phones and one truck to their owners.
In a separate case involving stolen livestock, the concerned police recovered and paid Rs400,000 as compensation to the complainant.
The complainants praised the timely intervention of the Ombudsman Punjab, lauding the institution’s role in ensuring prompt relief and protection of citizens’ rights through effective administrative accountability.
