The ever-increasing prices of essentials and utility services have made it very difficult for a pensioner to live within the fixed amount of pension he/she gets every month. Due to old age and health reasons, they cannot do some job to supplement their pension. In every welfare state, pensioners enjoy multiple comforts. Sadly, in our society, such facilities are just like a dream. The budget preparation for the fiscal year is already under-way. The economic authorities may therefore please consider increasing the pensions by 15-20 per cent in the upcoming budget so as to cure the miseries of the pensioners to some extent.
