In today’s modern world, consumerism has become a dominant part of human life. Everywhere we look, people are encouraged to buy more, use more and replace things more quickly than ever before. Advertisements, social media and brand competition have transformed purchasing from a simple necessity into a lifestyle and status symbol. Modern technology and digital marketing have greatly accelerated this culture. One of the major negative effects of consumerism is financial stress. Many individuals fall into debt due to unnecessary spending and installment-based purchasing.

Society must promote awareness about balanced living and responsible spending. Parents, teachers, religious scholars and media organisations should encourage values such as simplicity, moderation, generosity and financial discipline. Governments can also support sustainable production and discourage wasteful consumer practices.
