LAHORE : Rising inflation has made life increasingly difficult for the public, with many struggling to afford even two basic meals a day.

Adviser for Media and Political Affairs of PPP Lahore Agha Syed Taqi Shah, in a statement, observed that escalating fuel prices have been a major driver of inflation, pushing the overall cost of living to alarming levels. He urged the government to adopt targeted and effective measures to provide relief to economically vulnerable segments of society.

Agha Taqi emphasised the need to extend subsidies while ensuring that price control committees are fully functional. He stressed that these committees must actively monitor markets to curb profiteering and prevent unjustified price hikes by traders.

He also commended Punjab Governor Sardar Saleem Haider for his initiative to reduce traffic fines, describing it as a positive step. He added that similar public-oriented measures could play a vital role in easing the financial burden on citizens.
