LAHORE : The Punjab government’s Local Government and Community Development Department has issued instructions to ensure arrangements for cattle markets and sale points ahead of Eidul Azha 2026, according to an official document.

The directives have been sent to divisional commissioners, deputy commissioners, local government officers, waste management companies, and relevant authorities across the province.

The document states that only officially approved sale points and cattle markets will be allowed to operate, and authorities have been directed to prevent the establishment of illegal sale points.

District administrations have been instructed to ensure proper arrangements at designated locations, including parking, sanitation, and implementation of standard operating procedures. Waste Management Companies and related agencies have been directed to remain operational round the clock during Eid days to manage pre-and post-Eid cleanliness operations.

The instructions also emphasise the establishment of control rooms at provincial and district levels for monitoring and complaint management.

In addition, authorities have been directed to launch public awareness campaigns, ensure proper waste disposal through biodegradable bags, and maintain coordination among all departments involved.

The document directs all departments concerned to treat the matter as a ‘top priority.’
