Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman has announced that his party would hold nationwide protests against inflation on May 22. Speaking at a Wahdat conference in Manghopir, he said the Muslim Ummah has been suffering from Western aggression for decades.

The JUI-F chief said the US and its allies tested their power against Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya, Palestine and Gaza, and the entire world watched those atrocities. Rehman said his party is a voice, ideology and history. He said he wants to tell the establishment, the bureaucracy and the politicians not to teach politics to the JUI-F but learn politics from it.

He also said the JUI-F’s manifesto is that an Islamic bloc should come into existence. A common defence economic system can unite the Ummah supporting the Pakistan-Saudi-Arabia defence agreement.

Commenting about the US-Israel war on Iran, he said Israel has reached from Al-Quds to Iran, and if Israel conquers Iran, Israel will be at the doorstep of Pakistan. Israel wants to occupy the Muslim world, and it has its eyes on Haram Sharif, he added. He urged the Arab rulers to be united, stressing that it is time to become a defence force and defend the Ummah.

Rehman said Pakistan has been deprived of national unity, while the JUI-F is an example of national unity. He criticised the government’s political and economic policies, saying that today institutions in the country are being privatised.

He announced that the JUI-F would hold nationwide protests on May 22, pointing out that there would be protests against inflation in all district headquarters. He said a rally would also be held in Pishin, Balochistan, on June 4.
