DHAKA: In a significant move to bolster bilateral academic ties, the Pakistan High Commission in Dhaka, in collaboration with the Higher Education Commission (HEC), inaugurated the Pakistan Education Expo 2026.
The event, aimed at providing Bangladeshi youth with pathways to high-quality international education, was graced by Bangladesh Education Minister Dr ANM Ehsanul Haque Milon.Speaking at the inaugural ceremony, the minister expressed profound admiration for Pakistan’s evolving educational landscape, and thanked the Pakistani government for extending its hand to Bangladeshi students.
The minister, after touring the various university stalls, remarked on the immersive experience of the expo. “As I walked around the stalls, I felt like I had travelled all over Pakistan. I was truly impressed by the remarkable improvements in their education. Their system has advanced significantly.”
A cornerstone of the 2026 Expo is the offer of full scholarships for talented Bangladeshi students. The minister warmly welcomed this initiative, noting that it creates valuable opportunities for students to pursue higher education abroad without the burden of financial strain.
“We have deep-rooted similarities in religion, cuisine and culture,” the minister pointed out, reassuring students and parents alike. “I believe our students will not face any difficulties there. The scholarships provided will help them manage their livelihoods easily, allowing them to focus on their academic goals.”
Closing his remarks, Dr Milon shared his pride in the success of the neighbouring nation, and placed a mantle of responsibility on the prospective scholars.“I hope that our students who study in Pakistan will uphold the dignity of Bangladesh as ambassadors of our country. After completing their education, I look forward to them returning to Bangladesh to contribute on the world stage.”
The Pakistan Education Expo 2026 features several top-tier Pakistani universities, and is expected to draw thousands of students over the coming days, marking a new chapter in the global village of South Asian education.
