Rangers arrest five suspects involved in street crime, motorcycle theft

The Sindh Rangers have claimed arresting five suspects allegedly involved in multiple street crime and motorcycle theft incidents during an operation in the Mujahid Colony area of Nazimabad.

The arrested suspects were identified as Zeeshan, alias Malotra, son of Yaseen, Ubaid, alias Dadu, son of Waseem, Jashim, son of Abdul Kalam, Naveedur Rehman, alias Pathan, and Ahmed, alias Emo, son of Afzal.

According to a spokesperson for the paramilitary force, one motorcycle, three mobile phones and cash were recovered from the possession of the arrested suspects. The spokesperson stated that the suspects along with their accomplices were involved in criminal activities in Mujahid Colony, Wahid Colony, Nazimabad and their surrounding areas. Their crimes included street robberies, drug dealing, pickpocketing outside wedding halls, motorcycle theft, theft of batteries and electric wires, and mobile phones snatching.

Jashim, Naveed and Ahmed were also allegedly involved in the purchase and sale of stolen motorcycles and spare parts. The accused reportedly disguised themselves as pushcart vendors outside wedding halls and shopping malls before targeting unattended motorcycles and stealing spare parts from parking areas.

Several FIRs of different nature had already been registered against the suspects at various police stations across Karachi. Efforts are under way to arrest other members of the gang. The arrested men, along with the recovered items, were handed over to police for the initiation of legal proceedings.
